Mount Mayon Adventure

The perfect cone-shaped volcano, just like ice cream I say, with all the white clouds covering the cone, that was definitely a dessert just waiting to be eaten. I was mesmerized by its beauty. I never thought I would be able to see its marvel in person. I only saw this magnificent cone in print but not this close. Mt. Mayon surely rocks!
This shot was taken when I was at Embarcadero, a very famous landmark in Legazpi. Even from down here, its beauty was really inviting.

The road to Mt. Mayon was very complex. Since the road was not passable anymore by vehicles due to a very strong typhoon that hit badly the region, our van had to stop and wait for us and we had to walk. Crossing these man-made bridges since it was also destroyed was very risky, for it might not support our total weight and could fall anytime. But the tour guide assured us that it was safe. Well, the complexity just really adds to the thrill and became an adventure per say.
 CAGSAWA CHURCH RUINS -
This was the remnants of the church that was DESTROYED due to the Mt. Mayon's eruption in 1814. And to date, this had become one of the popular tourist attractions in the region. Seeing this in person was truly overwhelming. It has a very rich history that everyone ought to know.
This sign was placed at the base of the church.
Here is another view of the church.
Here at the church ground, a local guide/s was always on duty to assist visitors/tourists on their way around the area and they were accredited guides by the local government. They can actually take a photo of you and your berks in a very interesting way.

These were some of the photos that was taken by our guide. There was no fee for this and for their brief lectures about the church and the Mt. Mayon's history however, donations were very much appreciated.

This is me embracing it!                                               The rock twirl!
The big giant monster!                                                  Lean on Me!
                Frame it!                                                                Sooo Lean!
Sky Jump!!!

My trip here was really worthwhile. Spending time with friends and being one with nature made me appreciate how wonderful life is. And truly, this experience will be forever treasured in my heart!

Ciao!!
