Boracay Baby

The very famous beach island in the Philippines and is becoming the top tourist destination. The 7 km stretch island amazes local and foreign people because of its powdery, superfine white sand. Mostly every summer people come here to enjoy, indulge and relax. This is indeed a stunning, magical place for everyone!
Me and my partner went here for our anniversary. We got a Cebu Pacific flight 5J 132 bound for Caticlan last 02Sep2012. We also got a 3D2N accommodation at Villa De Oro Resort for only 1000php a night. So affordable for a resort situated beachfront!
Boracay Island has 3 divisions (station 1, station 2, station 3) and where we stayed was actually very convenient and it was at station 2, practically close to everything. The D'Mall, sort of mall in the island, and the "palengke" were just a walking distance as well as the sari-sari stores and of course the clubs! This was surely a perfect location for backpackers like us who wants to stay close to almost everything the island has to offer.
THE SUN SEA SAND
Hot weather, wonderful waves, and pristine white sand. All these made up Boracay's character! Even under the heat of sun, you'll find it amazing to just walk around the shore, find a perfect spot, and just sit and stare at the passersby.
The feel of the sand on my body was really wonderful. The sand was so fine t'was like laying on a powder.
Here the waves simply looked amazing.
The powdery sands of Boracay looked wonderful by the time the sun neared to set. The glimmering light complements well to the color of the sea. A very fascinating sight.
THE ACTIVITIES
There were so many things that you can do in Boracay Island and we've had a few, of course budget wise we need to spend with what we only have.

Helmet Diving was part of our to-do-list. It only costs us 300php each that included the CD copy of our shots taken under water and our funny and wacky video clips.

We were made to rode a speedboat to go to the perfect spot for diving.

As any other activity a short briefing was done while on the boat. It was hand signals since you won't hear anything from the other person so gestures were that important.
The guide goes down with you taking a lot of pictures and since I was the only one, I was like his subject. So I just kept on posing make funny and cute faces with my one and only props, the starfish. It was just so sad that my HUGS wasn't able to do this due to unforeseen circumstances. (G-r-r-r!) But anyhow, it was still memorable.

The experience was very awesome and satisfying seeing creatures under the sea. You won't get this much low price for a helmet dive as far as I know. So even without my HUGS, I just savored every moment of it. It was really a fun time underwater!
We went to Happy Dreamland, an amusement park in the island. I was amazed knowing that you will not only enjoy Boracay by its beach, it also has something in store for tourists and that is this mini theme park. Most of the rides here were for family.
We also tried the ATV for only 300php each and its starting point is at Happy Dreamland. The journey was smooth and enjoyable since we got to visit the other side of Boracay Island. This was one way to get to know the place more. Before we were sent off to tour the island, our guide asked us to test the Atv's first if it functions well so we circle the track that they've made just to see how it works.
Part of the tour was a visit to their mini zoo. They kept their animals safe and well fed. The Big Brown Birdie was very cute though. And the monkeys, yes, the monkeys oh well took my ukay-ukay shades!
We also went to the viewing deck and was blown away by the magnificent view of the island. It was more than a beach. The entire island was magical. There were still many activities, but we've only managed to do these things and we did enjoyed it!
Here I've captured the island's  board of activities for every juan to enjoy! The price was going to get good if so you know how to ask for less or "tawad or hangyo" in dialect.

THE FOOD
You'll never go hungry in Boracay Island. The moment I stepped out of our hotel I can see delicious food everywhere! Along the beach a hotel staff would approach you offering free food in exchange for an hour of presentation about their hotel. So, If ever you've bumped into one of these guys giving you invites , just grab it. Free food is always good, right? :-)
A tasty Jonah's Shake is also a must-try for first time travelers to the island. Their shakes were somewhat pricey but the taste just compensates it. They have a lot of flavors to choose from. I was really amazed as to the presentation of their product. It was genius I say and even helped mother nature through recycling. Pizzas were available too and grilled seafoods. Anything goes or better yet try 'em all! Don Vito Gelato was super delicious. A must try too! Then at night, chill out at the island's famous bars. Grab a drink and let loose!
THE SIGHTS -
D' MALL in Boracay was like a regular mall in the city. All kinds of sportswear were sold here, accessories, branded swimwear, sarong, cute slippers, colorful sling bags and many more. Signage's were also visible in the area just in case one gets lost.
Day or night you can see "fashionistas" walking around the beach. Be one of them or simply just be in character! Get a braid! I got mine for only 200php, and I've got a full braid.

Or just soak in the sun. After all, what's a beach without the sun, right? Just don't forget to wear sunscreen for your skin.
Strolling around Boracay from station 3 to station 1 was very tiring. Although there were motorcycles on the road, it was still worth it to walk along the shore.

World class hotels can be found in the island such as Astoria, Mandarin, Shangrila, Crown Regency, Red coconut and many others. Most of these class luxury hotels could be found at station 1. Most affordable ones were located at stations 2 and 3.
In the afternoon, the sight of the beach were full of blues and yellows. The boats used for island hopping were stationed by the shore. It was a wonderful view to look at.
Boracay was indeed a perfect place for us! True to its name, it's all-in-one, party place, gastronomic avenue, and adventure! We certainly had a blast! Upon our return, we took a flight via Iloilo which took 6 hours land trip by bus.
