Exploring Surigao del Sur: The Gigantic Tinuy-an Falls

Tinuy-an Falls is probably the biggest and the widest waterfalls that I've ever seen in my existence.
It is measured at 95m wide and 55m high and is more likely compared to the famous Niagra Falls.  The moment I laid my eyes on this magnificence it made me realized how glorious nature was. Everything was in the right place. My Surigao adventure never ends and surely there's more captivating sights yet to be found.

Tinuy-an Falls sits at the city of Bislig. From the main gate, me and my berks already heard the gushing sound of water. A minimal entrance fee was paid as well as the fee for our cottage.
Along the way we saw these small waterfalls. The current was quite strong though and only few folks swam in the area. Most of them headed straight to the gigantic waterfalls.
Cottages were tucked in between the trees and on the side of the water. We tried to accommodate the ones near the water but then our things got wet due to the strong drop of the falls that created itty bitty splash of water and so, we transferred to a much safer location. The locals also said that a rainbow can be seen directly above the falls between 9am - 11am, anyhow we saw this gorgeous rainbow close to the bridge and that was already around 2pm. It was still stunning!
Mist was forming as we headed closer to the gigantic falls. Taking good pictures wasn't that easy. The mist created moist around the lenses of our cheap but great cameras and as a result most of our photos were blurry.
Behold the majestic Tinuy-an Falls!!!
At this point the sound of the waterfalls was so loud and our cameras were having a very difficult job of getting a good photo. I was overwhelmed to see it this close. Not many people could have the chance to be here. The feeling was just wonderful.
From afar the waterfalls looked like a white, smoky curtain of water with a drop that sounded like a drumbeat multiplied a hundred times. My friend and I haven't gotten into the water yet, but it was as if we already did. The splash of the water was strong enough to make us wet.
Local guides in the area offered a minimal fee of Php100.00 to ride the bamboo raft to get  us much closer to the waterfalls. The raft was securely tied to a pole with a rope so we could actually signal the guide to let go of the rope if we want to get closer or to pull the raft if we want it to be over. The Php100.00 was for an hour ride but fortunately only few folks were there so we made the most of our time. At this juncture, it was clearly hard to hear each other and it was super cold. We didn't even finished our 1 hour raft ride since we were freezing.
Tinuy-an Falls is a three-layered falls. After our raft ride we headed to the top, climbed up using their man-made stairway and I saw this wonderful creation. It was like a staircase of waterfalls. The sight was just wonderful. They say the strong water drop from a waterfalls is a good massage and indeed the feel of the water at my back was liberating but ones exposed too long, my back already ached.
I was so fulfilled to be able to set foot here at TInuy-an Falls. The tedious ride coming here were all paid off by just the mere sight of the falls. It was truly an amazing experience.

Ciao!!!
